This used to me my regular abode in 2009-10 though I've been visiting this hotel from 2006 onwards. The name was Unique Palace at that time and later with change in ownership the name changed to Basundhara. After 2010 and before 2020, I've visited this place couple of times and recommended it to lot of my friends and relatives. All had good feedback. But what I saw this time was appalling. I visited with my friends and their families in early 2021. There has been no maintenance whatsoever. The walls have become dirty and so have the washrooms. The food which used to be so good at one time has now fallen below par. If you are planning a visit, please try to avoid this place now.

The rent of the room is hiked double without any facility. Location is away from main road so you have to walk 20 minutes to get any communication. Rooms are very ordinary with no comfort. Food quality is worst. Serving is also delayed.

The location of the Hotel is good. The Vishwa Bharati is nearby, though not a walkable distance of 700 Meters, as claimed by the Hotel. The accommodation is good and the food is nice. The Wi-Fi system, particularly inside the Room, needs a little improvement. Cycle-Vans (motorised) are easily available for local transportation. The famous eatery BonoLaxmi is a drive of 10 minutes.

Had a good experience in Hotel Basundhara, Shantiniketan. we liked the calm, peaceful and homely environment. Staffs were very well behaved and helpful. Room was good with necessary facilities. Dining and Food Quality were also good with reasonable price. 'Toto' driver (and Guide), Mr. Ram, suggested by the Hotel reception was a very nice person. Overall, it is a nice place to stay.

I visited a Guest House, Basundhara Inn at Prantik, Shantiniketan, West Bengal. The Hotel is just opposite to the Prantik Railway Station. It looks beautiful from the station. The in and around of the hotel is also peaceful. This is the best hotel to stay during pous-mela on December time
